Alternative Cleveland Bands of the 80s

Cleveland has a rich musical tradition that was alive and well in the decade that the Nine of Clubs had its day.  Industrial and Goth music was just coming into its own at the time. National bands like Nine inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, Sisters of Mercy, and Ministry were making a splash in the musical waters.  Labels like Wax Trax! were making Alternative music a profitable industry.

Here's a list of some of the local Cleveland bands that played a part in making the Nine of Clubs a destination on the Indie music map:

• Nine Inch Nails
  Ok, so not a LOCAL band since Trent went to New Orleans. But he started here and visited the Nine of Clubs whenever he was in town.

  A very eccletic band from the 80s and 90s was the Floyd Band.
