Sanctuary Vampire Sex Bar
I kid you not, that is the name of the night club. While Sanctuary was not a Cleveland club, it was a part of the thriving scene back then in Toronto, Canada. I consider Toronto to be a sister city to Cleveland; we made several trips there to Queen Street and the Indie scene out there. Very friendly people, and they knew how to dance. :)
The site Toronto-Goth.com writes about Sanctuary:
"The Sanctuary Vampire Sex Bar was the longest-runnning gothic bar and was open seven days a week. The first industrial club in Canada, it served as an introduction to the scene for many people and was a place where they could feel comfortable .."
The Sanctuary Vampire Sex Bar (732 Queen W) closed it's doors on June 30th 2000. The corporate coffee chain Starbucks moved into the location. They have been trying to call it "Sanctuary Starbucks" and have released literature to that effect.
Very Sad.
