Twenty Years Later, or What are They Doing Now?

One of the reasons I started this web site is to hear from my old friends that frequented the Nine of Clubs back in those days.  I'd love to hear about your experiences for one, but I'd also love to know what you're doing now.  We've all grown up (and in my case grown out) and hopefully look back at the Nine as a pleasant memory.  Share with us who you are (hopefully a then and now picture!) and what's up in your life now.

The information I'm looking for is:

  • Your Name (Maiden as well if married)
  • Time period you were at the Nine
  • Who you hung out with (Tattoo Dave? Fragment?)
  • What you were doing then (School?, Work?)
  • What you're doing now
  • Pictures! I'm starved for pictures! I need pictures.

Send your information to info@nineofclubbers.com and I'll see to it that it gets posted, along with any pictures (did I mention I need pictures?) you might send along.  I'm also looking to hear from people as to what else they'd like to see on this site; feel free to add a comment along with your information.  We all look forward to hearing from you!

Your Name - Michelle Mooney

Time period you were at the Nine - I actually went on opening night with my friend Del Basa and an assortment of his friends and siblings.  I remember laughing that first night about how it still smelled like "Rush" from when the space was Traxx. I was going out there up until the last night.   I'm attaching a photo of Dan and Councilwoman Dona Brady dancing to "the End" by the Doors - the last song played on the last night.

Who you hung out with - That progressed across the years.  From Del and those friends, I ended up meeting Vic Taylor and becoming really good friends with him and Ru.  I think Josh Friedman qualifies as "patient zero" for my exposure to the whole Coventry crowd that went to the club - Chris & Brad Bates, Jason Merhaut, Tim Berkley, Mike Filly, Berni Veider, Stuart Dowling, Tyler Zinn, etc.  There was also Alisa Weinzimer, LuLu, Darci Oster, Kim Nath, Geoff Ozanne, Dawn Phillips, Steven Kotler, Reggie Yates and a dozen others that I'll think of later and regret not including by name.

What you were doing then - I had a job at the airport and I was also in school

What you're doing now - I live and work in New York, as do quite a few others that I know from either the 9 of Clubs or Aquilon.

I have one point of contention, though perhaps it would be more appropriately directed at James; I don't remember anyone calling it the "Nine-O."  It was always "the Nine" or just "the club."
